Responsible for maintaining a safe and secure airside environment by conducting airfield inspections and coordinating operational and security activities. Monitors the airside area for compliance with policies and procedures and an efficient environment. Inspects aircraft movement areas and initiates corrective actions. Prepares inspection reports. Reports unsafe conditions and policy/procedure violations. Monitors construction and maintenance activities in operations areas to ensure a safe environment.

Responsibilities of this role include operating communications equipment, receiving and transferring emergency and non-emergency calls for assistance, as well as monitoring and responding to airport alarm signals regarding fires, airplane accidents, bomb threats, burglaries and facility maintenance. In addition, the Airport Communications Operator provides routine information to passengers, broadcasts aircraft emergency and hazardous condition information to appropriate airport and tenant personnel, and monitors Aircraft Operating Areas and other secure areas to prevent unauthorized access.

The primary responsibility of the Managing Airport Planner is to oversee airport planning activities that address airport development, infrastructure and land use needs. This includes managing planning studies that analyze and assess needs for current and future airport facilities at all three Houston airports. The Planner also makes recommendations to senior management regarding future airfield, terminal roadway and parking facilities, as well as meeting with management, stakeholders and/or end users to ensure that all project needs and expectations are addressed. In addition, the Planner manages the development of master plans that identify needs, propose feasible solutions, and help prioritize capital projects to ensure the region's airport facilities will meet current and future passenger and cargo demands.

Responsible for sustainable airfield pavement design, construction and management during the asset's 3-5 year lifecycle. Tasks include identifying, evaluating, managing and rehabilitating all airfield pavement assets and systems, as well as coordinating with the Tower, FAA, Airport Operations, airlines and airport management to minimize operational impact during construction. Provides overall planning, design, coordination and project management for construction projects, including cost management, quality management, contract administration, and safety and security management.
"My job is to deliver a quality product on time and within budget. Although our airfield pavements are composed of three-foot concrete sections, my expertise is understanding the minute details of each square inch of pavement. I enjoy the 'cradle to grave' aspect of my job."

Responsible for ensuring that requirements of Houston Airports concession agreements are met to achieve the best results for the passenger, concessionaire and Houston Airports through monitoring all operations that affect quality and service, inspection procedures, measurement and quality control.
"Our goal is to assure the highest quality from our concessionaires and other service companies, so our airport operations appear opening day fresh and our passengers stay happy. My job is to make sure that happens."

Serves as a liaison for all three airports of the Houston Airport System (IAH, HOU and EFD) ensuring that all Air Service Development (ASD) needs are met. Directs the development and execution of HAS’ air service development strategic objectives, key initiatives, and tactical plans to expand air service and increase airport usage. Oversees the execution of long and short-term air service development plans, expansion of passenger growth and works directly to develop regional strategy for strengthening air service with other national and international airports by developing strong business relationships with current and potential customers, airlines, business and local communities, government entities and stakeholders.

An integral part of the General Accounting and Financial Reporting section of Finance, this role is responsible for producing the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report and ensuring required government deadlines are met. Serves as the team lead on the monthly financial close, the detailed annual reporting package for the FAA, and a complex report submitted annually to the American Council International. Required to stay up to date on all existing and new Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) pronouncements to ensure Houston Airports records transactions and reports financial statements in accordance with those standards. Supervises audit request responses required to be submitted within the mayor mandated three-day turnaround. This role is the liaison to the external auditors and the Controller's Office.

Works directly with airline partners to develop, secure and maintain new and additional air service for Houston Airports. Builds long-term relationships with domestic and international airlines to evaluate and propose passenger and all-cargo air service growth for Houston. Performs in-depth data analyses and develops business cases to present to airline leadership and network planners.
"We sell both passenger and all-cargo air service to Houston. We're proud to connect Houstonians with so many countries and cultures around the world. In the past five years, we've secured 10 new international airlines and at least 12 new international routes in addition to domestic service."
